Singapore
construction sector to grow by 2004 : BCA
(12 January 2003)
The
total value of construction contracts awarded in
Singapore is S$12 billion in 2003 and is expected
to rise in 2004, according to the Building and Construction
Authority (BCA). Government spending will continue
to underpin the industry, particularly on institutional
building construction and infrastructure projects.
Market
watchers expect economic prospects in 2004 and beyond
to be brighter, with forecasts of stronger growth
in the United States. Riding on these expected better
economic sentiments, construction prospects in the
next two to three years in Singapore are estimated
to be between S$13 billion and S$15 billion a year.

Messe
Munchen International and Messe Frankfurt form indomitable
strategic alliance to boost building industry development
in Asia
The
synergy through co-locating two dynamic events in
the region, Baucon Asia and ISH Light+Building Asia,
organised by two of the world’s leading trade-fair
organisers, will prove the dominant reason for the
buyer’s decision in selecting the fair to
attend. This collaboration will pave the way for
World of Building Asia to be the platform for international
manufacturers to reinforce their corporate presence
in the region and to forge strategic business alliances
with the regional players towards supplying innovative
and cost-effective solutions for our customers.
